Polarize a TO-20 Generator

How do you polarize a TO-20 generator?  October 28 2016.

To polarize a TO-20 with the original 6 volt generator, and regulator momentarily touch a jumper lead between the “A” armature terminal on the generator, and the ( – )Negative terminal on the battery. If you look closely at the generator housing you should see an “A” next to one terminal, and an “F” next to the other. The negative battery terminal is the one connected to the starter switch.
